Fact: There once was a fungal derived pathogen effecting trees in New Hampshire. It was well controlled.
It had been controlled using DDT quite successfully. The Tree was called Elm. The disease became known as ‘Dutch Elm Disease’. I remember them. They used to line many streets in the city in which I was a child. They majestically arched over the streets in which we ran and played; shading generations of young Americans, Black, White, Jewish, Arab, Polish, Italian, Croatian, all the children.
